Hi all,

Please use this information ONLY if the main connection to Unit 32 fails for any reason (and you still have regular Internet access), but it is an option to keep you working if the connection drops for a sustained length of time (try to reconnect to UNit32 for a few minutes before using this method) 

1: Download the following file:   http://dl.dropbox.com/u/204516/MrC%20Software%20VPN%20-%202011.exe

2: Once downloaded, double click on the file to start the software VPN installer, click  on 'Yes' to start the install

3: At the next screen set the options for 'All Users' and 'Add a shortcut on the desktop', then click on 'OK'

4: Enter your user name and password (same as you logon to your MrC PC with). Enter 'MRCUK' (no quotes) as the 'Logon domain'

     Select 'Save Password',  'Connect Automatically' and 'Save these credentials for my use only'

Click on the 'Properties' button

5: Ensure that the 'I am already connected to the internet' option is selected

6: Click on 'OK'

7: Click on 'Connect' to connect to Unit 32, then connect to the MRCHOST's as normal

8: If you have followed the above, a shortcut should be visible on your desktop

 

9: To disconnect from Unit 32, double click on the desktop shortcut and then click on the 'Disconnect' button  (click on the desktop shortcut again to re-establish the connection)

Note: You may find that you cannot send / retrieve emails while connected via the software VPN, but this is the only side effect I am aware of. If you need to send an email, disconnect / reconnect to unit32 as mentioned above
