Hi Andrew

Just popped into head office this morning and seen your email. I will be out on site surveys until after 2pm this afternoon and I am not working at the Raynes Park showroom again until tomorrow (Wednesday 7th March)

However, just to inform you that Trevor Money from Planet flooring (Wood Specialist) should be in contact with you sometime today to make an mutually convenient appointment with you or Zoe to inspect the floors.

I would anticipate that the earliest appointment that Trevor could arrange would be for tomorrow Wednesday 7th March but will leave that between you & Trevor to confirm.

Once an appointment has been arranged can you please keep me in the loop?

Many Thanks & kind regards

Colin

Hi Colin

Thank you for the quick reply

To give you a more accurate idea of the damage, we have drawn a (not to scale) plan which I’ve attached.

Across both hallways we can find a little over 12 metres of knife cuts in the wood flooring.

Hi Andrew & Zoe

Thanks for the attached pictures and I am very sorry for the damage that has been caused during the template work by our installers today

As I can see that the cuts are fresh, there is no need for a further site inspection as it is obvious from the photographs that you have kindly provided that the cuts were not there prior to our installers visit today.

I have forwarded the pictures onto my superiors & I would anticipate that one of my colleagues or myself will be in contact over the next few days to arrange for the appropriate specialist to inspect the damage and provide us with a solution to rectify the problem. Mr Carpet Ltd will obviously be responsible to cover any costs of the rectification works required

I can only agree with you that the damage caused is unacceptable, but may I re-assure you that the professional advice and service that we have provided to date, will continue from here, until this problem has been rectified and the carpet installation has been completed.

I would anticipate that it may take a few days to obtain an appointment from the wood floor specialist that we have known for 20+ years, but as soon as we have any more information, somebody from Mr Carpet Ltd will be I contact to make the necessary arrangements to view this issue

Many Thanks & kind regards

Colin

Hi Colin

I’ve attached 4 photos as examples of what we discussed.

I could send many more but it just shows the same ... It appears the knife cuts from the fitting are not isolated but in many places - both upstairs and downstairs hallways.

I must admit I am in total shock - it is American oak nearly 100 years old original flooring.

The whole reason we have gone with such an expensive option and specialist company was to be able to show off an unusual beautiful feature of the house and be confident we were in the hands of  professionals who know what they are doing.

If someone wants to come and verify tonight that is fine - the cuts are fresh and raised so obviously not there previously.

Hi Colin

There are a couple of things on the quote that I went through at the weekend that have not made it through to you - the main thing being blind stitched/ bound & wipped in matching yarn for the shaped carpets.

As you say, we can adjust this at a later stage.

I’m happy to accept the quote and move forward on that basis.

If you could let me know the business bank account details? I will transfer the 50% deposit.

Many thanks

Andrew

Dear Andrew & Zoe

Further to your showroom visit last Saturday with my colleague Canice Kelly & subsequent email to John Cresswell this afternoon, Please find the revised quotations as requested.

I am not personally back at the Raynes Park showroom until Saturday this week but John spoke to me earlier to advise that you are now ready to place your order & understandably would like to take advantage of current Sale prices

Therefore I have worked on a bit later this evening to provide the attached quotations

The brass profiles that I discussed with Zoe during my site visit on Monday 22nd January would just need to be approved, however this could be done after the initial order has been placed and any price difference adjusted later?

I have attached a few pictures of the B19 profile that would be suitable to edge the matting at the front door as the Coir matting is 17mm in overall thickness including its PVC backing & I have also attached a brass naplock profile that would edge the hallway rug just inside the front door & also the landing rug across the carpet just in front of the top of the stairs (As existing - but right across as discussed with Zoe on my last visit)

I hope that helps?

Many Thanks & kind regards

Colin
