Subject: Fwd: LDP Claim UK2063/NA customer Mandeville
David

I am in our HQ in Belgium and reviewing the status of live claims.

I have not heard from you again since my email below of 13 January 2017 regarding the claim for customer Mandeville.

I understood that you wanted our samples out and the account closed from our communications in December.

However I wondered with regards to this specific claim if there is anything further to be discussed.

I would be obliged if you could let me know.

Your help is appreciated.

Kind regards

Alan

Dear David

RE: Louis de Poortere Claim UK2063/NA – Color Full – invoice 136812
RE: Mr W Mandeville, 206 Fleetside, West Molesey, KT8 2NJ

I refer again to the above claim and must apologise for the delay in replying to you.

I referred the matter and all your comments back to our Claims Team in Belgium.

At the same time I discussed with the Independent Inspector, Technical Contract Services, the content of his report and its relevance in today’s retail environment.

In discussion with Keith Wetherell he confirms that the mention of a shift or extra material set aside is detailed on all his reports for wear on stairs, submitted to all manufacturers as it is a requirement of BS5325 and therefore relevant to the decision making process. However in such cases where an off-cut is available, this is tested for wear before the report is submitted. However as pointed out by Keith there are many reasons for premature wear on stairs attributable to factors such a use, footwear, underlay etc. It is therefore impossible to compare one instance with another. However he stands by his reference to BS5325 as this is recognised Best Practice.

As you know our Claims Team make their decision on the report of the Independent Inspector. In this case it states that ‘no manufacturing fault exists’.

However taking all the information into account our Claims Team have offered an allowance of 50% on a replacement carpet.

This equates to 15.31 square metres @ £21.48 = £328.85

Please can you advise your customer accordingly and I await your further instructions.

Kind regards

Alan
