At 11.10am today Mr. O’Brien called in again to say he was not happy with my approach yesterday and would be taking this matter further , I replied by stating  I was standing my ground as you came in with another customer present , your voice was quite raised and highlighting an issue of three weeks ago that you did not bring to our attention at the time  ,

 

Richard was also present today, Mr. O’Brien seemed confused as we asked him questions , now denying a container was ever present  , we fitted on Wednesday the 16-08-2017 and within 5 days the cockroaches were present , during the conversation he visited a few days after the carpet was fitted with the letting agent both saw no signs of any pests

 

The tenant advised him of the issue when he walked the property a few days later  , they were present in the cupboards , no carpeting fitted in cupboards , despite how we replied , Mr O’Brien his words ‘’ I am a thousand percent sure it is the carpet that created the issue ‘’ , he will be forwarding his pest controller reports and ultimately is seeking costs back from us

 

I concluded the visit by stating we take no responsibility for this issue , and re iterated from yesterday’s visit he should have contacted us at the time he believed this matter arose he was not interested this or with the fact we have previously sold  large volumes of this carpet quality without any such issues he is describing

 

Accordingly this is an update and once we receive said reports we can discuss

The conversation last 25 minutes and I covered all scenarios , I kept waiting another customer Mrs McKechnie who was doing her best not to laugh , when she left she said he will be back

I have never heard of cockroaches being present in carpets and we have purchased 22 rolls of the Portobello range  and there is aprox only 6 rolls in stock so we have fitted over 16 rolls. I cannot believe if we introduced them that Alan would not have seen them.

As I am sure you have already said we are not the source or responsible. I would say a container is more likely the source.

I have just had a visit from Mr’ O’Brien whose business is called Abbot Way Ltd, he has explained since the above carpet order was fitted , there have been cockroaches present , approximately three weeks ago he called in a professional pest controller , the new tenant has denied responsibility from his container delivery , I spoke to Alan Gent in the presence of the customer he remembered the Irish gentleman and said the carpets were brand new and absolutely no sign of any pests , I subsequently spoke To Charlie Clough and he had no issues , from the stock levels approximately 12 rolls of Pimlico assorted colour have been fitted and I am not aware of any other issues/accusations of pests within the said material   

 

This is purely FYI and for information purposes in case we hear back from this man
