Windows Notes ================================================== Configuration Menu -------------------------------------------------- After starting SmartWare, the System Configuration menu can be accessed by clicking on the window's top left button and selecting "Configure" from the resulting pulldown menu. The System Configuration dialog box gives you control over the application's title, the fonts used by SmartWare for display, and the size of the screen (the number of rows and columns). If the row and column values are set to zero, SmartWare will use the full screen size. Configuration information is stored in the \ANGOSS\OASYS\ANGOSS.INI file. The recommended video mode is SVGA with a resolution of 800x600. Video drivers can be selected and installed through the Windows Setup icon in the Main group. If you cannot use a driver with an 800x600 resolution and are, instead, using a 640x480 video driver, select the 7x13 sized fonts in the Configuration menu. Setting Preferences -------------------------------------------------- You can set the default printer to any of the printers installed on Windows. To do this, start SmartWare, select TOOLS, followed by PREFERENCES, followed by HARDWARE. F6 is used to select the appropriate device and F10 completes the selection. Both the keyboard and the mouse can be used to select these items. Pulldown menus can be turned off by selecting TOOLS PREFERENCES TERMINATE-PULLDOWNS. This will switch the menu style to the traditional SmartWare menus. General defaults, such as the Date and Currency types, can be set through TOOLS PREFERENCES GLOBAL. Module defaults, such as dictionary settings, are specified in the preference options headed by the module name (e.g., TOOLS PREFERENCES WORDPROCESSOR). Note that the Software System manual covers Hardware, Global, and Module Preferences in detail. Adding Nodes - The Node Manager -------------------------------------------------- Nodes allow access to SmartWare or the Developer programs. Multiple nodes provide access for more than one user at the same time. If you require more nodes than you currently have, fill out and print the Ordering Information dialog box in the Node Manager. Note that, normally nodes are added with a node key. However, nodes can also be added from a diskette.
